Formal Approval Process — New & Renewed Programmes
01
Initiation
Faculty Proposal

Faculty members submit a structured project proposal for the new or renewed programme to the Head of Institution or Board of Directors.

02
Internal Review
Institutional Review & Approval

The Head or Board reviews and approves the proposal in consultation with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring full alignment with expected learning objectives and outcomes.

03
Regulatory Submission
Application to MFHEA

The College submits the programme accreditation application to the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) — the national authority responsible for higher education regulation and quality assurance in Malta.

04
Accreditation
MFHEA Accreditation

The programme may only commence after formal accreditation by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA). No student intake takes place before this approval is granted.

05
Short Courses
Governing Board Approval

Non-academic short courses and introductory programmes that do not confer a formal qualification are approved by resolution of the Governing Board — without requiring MFHEA accreditation.

Design principle: All programmes are designed to meet clearly defined expected learning objectives and outcomes before any approval process begins — ensuring academic rigour from the very first stage.

Short Courses

We offer short courses that can be taken by students who wish to study a specific subject in depth without committing to a degree programme. These short courses are mainly concerned with "personal skills" that are useful in a life and work context and at the same time provide excellent support in deciding on a possible subsequent academic path. These short courses do not award an academic degree, but a digital certificate of completion that can be used in curricular and professional contexts, attesting the acquisition of knowledge and skills in a specific field.
