Higher Education Programmes
"We don't just learn for our degree, but for our life"
Processes for program design and Accreditation
We use precise processes for program design and approval. Students and external stakeholders are involved in program design. We interact with internal stakeholders (teachers, students and employees) and external stakeholder (donors, local authorities, professional bodies and agencies).
The policies provide:
- Targeting stakeholders to help Institution improvement;
- Persuading stakeholders ;
- Providing Incentives for stakeholders;
- Creating a feedback;
- Reporting on progress and thanking stakeholders for their contribution;
- Design more-effective outreach programs in the future.
The programs will be designed in a way that meets the expected learning objectives and outcomes. The formal process for approval of new/renewal course is a follows:
- faculty members shall propose a project of new course to the head of institution/board of directors;
- the head/board will review or approved it, confronting with the stakeholders;
- the College send the application of program accreditation to the Maltese Ministry (MFHEA);
- the new educational academic program can only start after accreditation by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education.
- the new educational short courses or introductory courses that do not grant an academic qualification are approved by resolution of the Governing Board.
The qualification resulting from a programs will be clearly specified and communicated and will refer to the correct level of the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education and, consequently, to the Qualification Framework of the European Higher Education Area.
Graduate and post graduate programmes
As a Higher Education Institution fully accredited by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority, we can provide graduate and post graduate programmes and courses. The new educational academic program at approved MQF - EQF Level can only start after accreditation by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. The Malta Qualifications Database is a unique database that contains information on study programmes offered in Malta. All accredited study programme Bachelor degree, Master degree, Post graduate, Doctoral degree, Award/Single Course, can be found in this database.
Short Courses
We also offer short courses that can be taken by students who wish to study a specific subject in depth without committing to a degree programme. These short courses are mainly concerned with "personal skills" that are useful in a life and work context and at the same time provide excellent support in deciding on a possible subsequent academic path. These short courses do not award an academic degree, but a digital certificate of completion that can be used in curricular and professional contexts, attesting the acquisition of knowledge and skills in a specific field.
